Kutaisi is the second largest and one of the oldest cities of Georgia. It boasts a diverse historical and cultural heritage - dinosaur footprints, a myth of the Argonauts, the UNESCO-protected architectural monuments. Additionally, Kutaisi holds the distinction of being the birthplace of Georgian filmmaking, as the city takes pride in a 115-year-old film-making tradition that began with the first Georgian film director - Vasil Amashukeli, hailing from Kutaisi, so the main goal of the festival is to bring back the cinema to Kutaisi!

The Festival’s focus is on short films and it aims to discover new talents and voices in the film industry and cinema. The Festival will highlight the importance and the values of short films with an aim to revive its popularity among the public.

Along with the competition program, retrospectives and special screenings, the festival includes lectures, masterclasses and workshops.
